History of Olympic Weightlifting
The Lift Up project is brought to you by chidlovski.com.
One of many athletes overshadowed by legendary Naim Suleymanoglu and one of very few who actually managed to win over him, Nikolay Peshalov was a 4-time Olympian (bronze medals in 1996 and 2004, silver medal in 1992 and gold medal in 2000). Sharp competitor and fine technician, he was a graduate of Bulgarian weightlifting school and competed for Team Bulgaria and Team Croatia in his career. The footage shows Peshalov's lifts that brought him the gold medal at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
