World Championship, Paris, France, 1946: A unique French newsreel footage featuring highlights of the 1946 World Championship, the first world championship attended by the Soviet weightlifting team. Grigory Novak became a true sensation of the tournament and became the first Soviet World Champion ever. The footage also features such legends of Olympic weightlifting as Ibrahim Shams (Egypt), John Davis (USA), Mahmoud Fayad (Egypt), Mahmoud Namjou (Iran), Stanley Stanczyk (USA), John Terpak (USA) and more.
