Sultan Rakhmanov

My first knowledge of Rakhmanov was a photo in Strength and Health giving a brief report on the 1977 Friendship cup. He and Yenaldiev were both there. I think Yenaldiev was the winner with Rakhmanov as an extra lifter. Sultan was still growing into the supers, maybe 280lbs. but he had enormous traps and very thick arms, especially forearms. I kept looking for him in results after that.

Sultan Rakhmanov is weightlifting king.He was one of the best hestorical lifters.

I firts saw Sultan on wide world of sports,I was really impressed,his thigh development really inspired me to work hard on my legs.I just saw that he passed in 2003,I was telling my son about some of the russian olympic weight lifters and how great they were,Anatoly Pisorenkov,Vasily Alexeev and of course Sultan.
