Dave was my grandpa. He passed away before I was born. Grandma Margaret told me story's about him and showed me pictures of him and dad. My dad's literally Dave's twin. Hairline and all! Hahaha Wish I could of met him!! If anyone has any more info or photos I would love to see them! 💜

I was hired as a police officer at Santa Monica PD in 1967. Dave was my training officer. Not only was he terribly strong, but he was friendly, well liked and a very ethical man. We need more police officers like him.

I was hired as an officer of Oceanside RD in 1967. Dave was my training officer, not only was he strong, but his personal ethics could not have been better. He was a great guy and partner.

Dave was a police officer in Santa Monica, California when I was a little kid in the early 1960's. My dad knew him well. Dave was a big, athletic guy with a dark mustache and even though he was an Olympic weightlifter, he always had time to talk to me and to spend time with little kids or whoever wanted a little bit of his time. Later he became the dispatcher for SMPD and I always remember hearing his unique voice when monitoring the frequency. Dave was an old school gentleman and I will never forget him.

Dave was my Stepdad. He is the only reason that I do things correctly when I lift, when I ride a motorcycle and when I now act as step father to my wife's children. He was a wonderful inspiration to me and I miss him to this day. Rest easy Gozilla. (I still have handcuffs of Dave's with that inscription from his fellow police officers in Santa Monica.) Few people know this, but we erected a plaque in his name in the desert of California. It is at the top of Triumph Hill in the hills of Lancaster California. Vance

I worked with Dave for a number of years and always found him to be a very honest, harworking, and caring individual. I lost a good friend the day he passed on.

I knew Dave for 15 years. He was simply the most tremendous athlete. Even in his 50's he still had quickness that was amazing. Complex and sometimes difficult he had a tremendous sense of humor and a great zest for life. I still miss him. They don't make them like Dave anymore.

Dave & I trained together at the old 'Dungeon' Muscle Beach Weightlifting Club from '59 to '63. He was a great guy as well as a great athlete.
