History of Olympic Weightlifting
The Lift Up project is brought to you by chidlovski.com.
Olympic Games, Melbourne, Australia, 1956: One of the classics of split style lifting, Fedor Bogdanovsky (USSR) wins Olympic gold medal in the middle weight class. For many years, Bogdanovsky was marked as second to Tommy Kono in the competitions. It seemed that he could never overcome his complex of Kono. In Melbourne, Bogdanovky showed a spectacular performance and confidence. He won gold medal with a world record in total (420 kg).
